Being a few words describing an ISV journey …

2007-04-08 : Spam, spam, spam, and more spam.

The time has come the walrus said ... having used phpBB as a support forum for Eternity Software for nearly a year, the growing list of spam messages has caused a rethink.

I am sure proponents of phpBB will say that their anti-spam stuff is gettng better, but I get about five spam posts a day slipping through. Not much I agree, but a waste of five minutes a day deleting them.

So as all good programmers do, I decided to write my own forum software! Never a great idea if you're working to a deadline, but always a fun thing to do. So a few hours later, the forum is up. For those of you interested, it was written with python and uses Cheetah templating.
