From here to eternity

Being a few words describing an ISV journey …

2006-12-31 : Where has the year gone?

Has someone been fiddling with time again? Yet another year has flown past faster than the last.

My Dad told me that as you get older, the time apears to go even faster!

My working hypothesis is that you start life with a fixed amount of RAM (memory space). When you're a kid, the amount of free space is comparitively large. As you experience more and more of life, that space gets filled with stuff.

So the fixed amount of space is divided by the number of years you've been alive (give or take a few, no one can really remember being < 1 year old, can they?). So when you're young a single year might occupy (at age 10), 10% of your brain. Time goes slowly, and you experiencing everything in lucid detail. When you're 80, one year can only possibly occupy 1/80th of your brain, so when recollecting that year, it seem to have just flown by.
