From here to eternity
Being a few words describing an ISV journey …
2006-07-20 : From reality to fresh hope
I have just finished reading Bob Walsh's Micro-ISV: From Vision To Reality. I'm sorry Bob, but I found it a really depressing read.
Although it is undeniably a good resource of all the things you need to cover in doing the ISV thing, it's just too damn pessimistic. I am not sure it lists any .. I'm struggling to remember one ... good things about starting an ISV. For someone with a vision, such a bucket of cold water could be refreshing or could just douse that small spark of inspiration.
While I appreciate the sentiment that you don't want a million failed entrepeneurs knocking on your door, I like to think you were trying to give fair advice rather than trying to save your behind.
Having taken the plunge I think I will swim on; floaties intact, and hope the only leaks in the life preservers are slow ones.
